There was a lot of resampling involved in the production of Virola, which is actually the merge of two different ideas that I had projected for separate tracks. The initial part was created with an Elektron Digitone, and its also comprised by two totally independent lines. I was very surprised when I noticed how well both of them fit when I began to work on the transition from one to the other. The whole drum kit was crafted using a Roland TR8S, initially with a dancefloor groove in mind; all the sounds had to be tweaked and rearranged into something "dubbier", and the time that it would require kept me away from work for some time... I knew they would fit great within the whole setup, so it was one of those tiresome tasks that keeps haunting you no matter how hard you try to avoid them.
